In Playa Camaronal nest three of the seven species of sea turtles in the world, these are the leatherback, olive ridley, hawksbill black; all declared species endangered, but the most common nesting records are for olive ridley and a much smaller proportion of the leatherback, hawksbill black. It is important to note that the nesting behavior of the olive ridley on this refuge is alone and not in big groups as given in Ostional
